fuqdawut.
Seen too many movies recently. I’m broke.
Avengers. I hate Marvel, but this movie was perfectly crafted after quite a few movie flops. Thor was an insult and Captain America slid by because of Chris Evans. However, the Avengers made it all worth while. A lot of laughs. My best friend, who I’ve never seen cry, was almost sobbing next to me. And if you stay until the very end of the credits, you feel satisfied with the world.
Dark Shadows. Uhm. Mixed feelings. Rushed, a lot of obscurity from plot, a lot of forced intimacy. The series was a lot better, but… Tim Burton is who is is. Way better than Alice in Wonderland, but not up to par with what I expect from his legacy. Frankenweenie will make up for it.
The Lucky One. Go see it. No, don’t ask questions. Just go. Take someone you care about and go see this. I didn’t like Zac Efron until 17 Again, and this movie put him five steps higher.
Three Stooges. I wouldn’t recommend this unless you’ve seen the original Stooges and liked them. It’s the exact same humor, just new actors. Classy and hilarious. But as I said, unless you like the original, I don’t recommend. If you’ve seen it, you’ll love this one.
Lady in Black. Mixed feelings. I got really freaked out because of dolls and clowns. It felt disconnected. The ending was satisfying, but the whole time I kept telling Harry to just pull out his wand. Why was he so afraid of ghosts? He went to a DEATH DAY PARTY his second year of Hogwarts! Bah on him. BAH. yes I fucking know it’s Dan Rad and not Harry Potter. but he’s always going to be known as Harry Potter, the boy who posed naked with a horse.
Party Monster. This is one I didn’t know how to react to. At all. I watched parts of it in someone’s presentation in Ab.Psych. and went home to try to figure out what was going on. Extravagant, to say the least. If you don’t mind Macaulay Culkin hogging your screen for a few hours and want to know about some weird sides to an old culture, hit it up.
High Tension. Thriller. Foreign w/ English dub. Psycho twist. Fuckin great. I was iffy until the ending, where I fell in love with the movie. Hardcore psychos make me smile.
Irreversible. Five words: 7 minute graphic rape scene. There’s a reason Marilyn Manson loved the film. I finally got to watch a subbed version of the film. It’s great, but most people won’t watch it because of some graphic beatings (you can tell he’s trying to kill her) and rape. Just makes the movie more realistic and relatable for me.
Videogames. Substance Abuse. Atheism.
Love, you were a great friend. I treated you like shit because of what I was going through. Fuck, I left a LOT out of this post and intentionally made what IS in there pretty vague. I just wasn’t in a good spot today and had to get it out because I was told twice today “Some people have it worse than you” when they don’t know ANYTHING about who I am.
It means a lot that I can still harass you from time to time and us still be friends. I really enjoyed having ramen with you before I moved after forever of us not talking (which, honestly, was because I didn’t want you to see me like that. I felt like you’d be disappointed in me.). It made the move easier knowing I still had our friendship.
